Kingdom of Midgering

The Lands of Spirits and Outlanders

The Kingdom of Midgering is a large nation in size however, its population is sparse and often live in small communities living off the fantastical biomes found uniquely in the connecting point of Telmia and Unsvi. The old capital that once sat within a mountain-side inland, Stotham, has been ransacked and now sleeps in ruin, the castle is a tainted land, being the last royal home of Loreal Forrin the Queen who abandoned her nation for her sister Yanessa Forrin.
The Capital now sits under the Muchrrom beaches of Penver where it has good access to the seas as well as overhead protection from the great icy storms passed down by Völsung provided by the giant heads of mushrooms. Throughout Midgering there lay many interesting biomes and each biome is overseen by different communities, the further north one gets the more the communities abandon the pantheons of new and instead take a more peaceful spiritual journey of becoming a follower of the The Slovan Spirits. The unique nature of Midgering also leads to one of a kind species of beast and insect that one cannot find elsewhere, making the lands very rich for explorers
  Some biomes of Midgering include:
  • Mushroom Forests
  • Moongate Treelands
  • The Ice-Tunnels
  • And more...

The current rulers of Midgering are the Renor Family headed by Queen Renor.

The Northern War Front

Most skirmishes around Skålnir centre around bandits, revolutionists, cults or small militia forces, however, the largest war is between The Vastelian Empire and The Kingdom of Midgering. It's a war for resources and for land, a desperate attempt for both nations to reclaim what they feel they lost when Cherin was implemented as a politically safe nation. The War has brought a large amount of political play into the courts of both Midgering and Vastelia as both seek to gain assistance and inflict sanctions on the opposing side. The war has been ongoing for 20 years now, with militaries only more recently becoming more prominent in the claiming of territory as a product of a lack of faith in negotiations.

Effect on Midgering

Midgering has a significantly small militia due to its small city-dwelling population, however, the small militia that does exist is extremely competent at manoeuvring troublesome terrain and Frozen storms of ice. Because of this, any aggressive feat, such as conquering new lands has been difficult for the army, however, they have a rock-like defence that is solid and nearly impossible for the Vastelian Empire to push through. The war itself hasn't had a strong negative effect on the country as of yet, however, Midgering is not a nation built for war. They are not well unionised as a country leading to issues with allegiance and a lack of care for government.
