Konos
From the green magical forests of Arana, through the Plains of Kush and Harak, till it meets its end on the southern tip of the continent. The waters of the river unite the people and allow them plentiful harvests, especially in the deserts of the south. It is the longest, mightiest, and most important river and waterway of the continent.
Geography
The Konos is the longest and biggest river in Atlanesis. It is over 1000 kilometers long and passes through several nations and climate zones. In the north, it has its origin in two rivers, the Blue Konos and the Wild Konos. The two rivers meet in the Konos Lake and then unite to the Konos River for the remaining travel. The river has a width between 5 and 10 kilometers and is known as a nearly endless source of water. It transports the wet gold from the rainy plains of the north into the deserts of the south and allows nations and life to flourish on its shores. The whole river is used for ships and is a strong trade route for all nations that it crosses.
History
The river has its origin after the fall of Atlantis 500 BC. After the continent was reshaped and the mountains of the north were created, water began to collect around the high peaks and flowed downwards into the plains. These small first rivers slowly formed their way south through the plains and began shaping the river we know today. Over the coming centuries, several nations formed around the river and allowed some of the first stable nations in the rough times after the fall.
