Session 13: Reyes Report

General Summary

In the opulent halls of Falvus Verus' mansion, a fierce battle erupted as the party confronted the cunning vampire, Reyes. The grandeur of the house became a backdrop to a deadly dance of predator and prey. A guard, revealing his true nature as a werewolf, leapt into the fray to protect Reyes, causing chaos among the other guards and adding a ferocious edge to the conflict. Reyes also summoned another wolf to join the melee.   The party's initial surprise attack was a powerful onslaught, dealing a staggering 80 damage in a single round. However, the battle quickly evolved into a strategic game of cat and mouse. Reyes, with his enchanting abilities and deceptive tactics, proved to be an elusive target, constantly evading the party's grasp.   Lavinia, caught under Reyes' spell for most of the fight, found herself healing the vampire with each of his biting attacks, her own life force draining perilously close to death. Ash, driven by frustration, relentlessly pursued Reyes but struggled to corner the agile vampire till the end.   Marcus, too, fell under the vampire's influence but emerged as a pivotal force in the battle's climax. His decisive actions not only dispatched the werewolf but also positioned Allesandra to deliver the final blow to Reyes.   Vass, ever the protector, kept the party from succumbing to their wounds. A memorable moment came when he cleverly used a polished metal plate and sunlight to inflict significant damage on Reyes.   Allesandra, undeterred by the vampire's taunts, pursued him with relentless determination. Despite Reyes' agility and the party's divided focus, they eventually wore him down. A crucial turning point was Lucious Argentis' timely delivery of a bottle of Holy Water, which Allesandra skillfully caught and used on Reyes, crippling his regenerative abilities.   The endgame unfolded in Falvus' office, where the party finally cornered and slew the desperate vampire as he attempted one last escape. They then ensured his permanent demise by staking his body in the coffin, which burned in the sunlight.   After the exhausting battle, the party scavenged the mansion for valuables before attempting to leave Dunwell. However, Vass once again attracted the attention of a mob accusing him of warlockery. Despite their efforts at persuasion, it was only through intimidation in combat that they dispersed the crowd.   Returning to the Deathwarden camp, they found a scene of devastation. Nearly all the Deathwardens were dead, with Captain Wahn barely clinging to life. Eira and her daughter, hidden in a tree hollow, revealed a harrowing tale: the monstrous creature that had ravaged the camp was none other than a transformed Falvus Verus, who had abducted the young Eifer girl they had rescued. It turned out it was the Eifer girl who had snuck into Vass' tent and stolen the Nergalesh, then snuck into Falvus' tent to deliver the creature, into his ear.   Amidst the ruin and loss, Isadora was missing, and Leona was discovered, brutally decapitated. The party, weary and burdened with new revelations, faced the daunting task of piecing together their next move.
