The Sea Kingdoms

A confederation of the Kingdom of Silla the Kingdom of Baekje and the Kingdom of Goyoko over the Tabaxi Archipelago.

Structure

A loose confederation of Separate Sea Fairing Kingdoms allied in their foreign policy but not in their domestic policy. Their are closer to a large alliance with a unified foreign policy to a specific internal structure. However the Kingdoms do share a uniform foreign policy headed up by the Triumvirate of member states. This Triumvirate traditionally is headed by King of Silla, with the Prince and heir of Kingdom of Baekje and the Yeongju, or special lord or magistrate of Goyoko sent by the king there. Under them are Ambassadors and several advisors that actually implement their choices. As such Silla has become the capitol of foreign interest in the Sea Kingdoms, an important fact for a Trade based collection of states.

Culture

The Culture of the Sea Kingdoms remains pretty uniform despite their many separate domestic policies. The Culture in dominated by Tabaxi's unique take on Sea elf cultures and their unique nature. Their language while borrowing many Aquarian words still remains unique from the Sea Elves who use to dominate them. The culture is one of much polite debate, religious and political cynicism, and a taste for the colorful and festive. Throwing festivals is an important aspect and expectation of the rich, and wise educated peoples are considered the platonic ideal. Many of their structures and ships are built in a sea elf design but often with support from Edren concrete and castle designs. Never afraid to try something new their ships often are outfitted with modern canons and advances sails despite their "old" look.

Public Agenda

The Kingdoms public agenda is to push out aggressors of all kingdoms within its waters and to protect the nature of their crowns. As such the Sea Kingdoms are rarely involved in any expansionist work but are very quick to counter any perceived hostile action as well as deal with any domestic action to push for anti-monarchal reform, even putting down a major rebellion in Goyoko only two hundred years prior that installed the current Royal Family in its place. They also seek to enrich their kingdoms and the kings, pushing for strong trade relationships and trade control of the open seas between The Republic of Dobruja and the Kingdoms, building up their continuing rivalry.

Assets

Its location amongst the critical sea lanes back to Wallachia and the Empire, the Sea Kingdoms jungle isles remain popular destinations for trades. Here timber, Rice, Knowledge, ships, and safe harbors are their wealth.

History

The Sea Kingdoms were formed each separately by growing self reliance of the majority Tabaxi populace after the Calamity. Once the coastal power of the Edren Empire began to fall, one by one the islands rebelled to minimal resistance around 220. It was aggression from the growing power of The Republic of Dobruja that would unite the desperate kingdoms. As off and on sea wars would be faced against these Wallachian conquerors. Eventually this alliance became a full confederation with a unified foreign policy.

Religion

No Religion holds sway in the Sea Kingdoms baring the Monarch Worship in Baekje. Officially the Sea Kingdoms hold religion as legal only when held second to the crown.

Foreign Relations

The Sea Kingdoms Officially have taken to a policy of neutrality with The Republic of Dobruja and The Republic of Hell's Landing  as the latter grew into a bigger rival. Now as the nation in between the two great Sea Powers it acts as a balancer siding in disputes with whomever is weaker. It however has a negative relationship with both The Hobgoblin Kahnates and the Free Fjords as pirates are constantly a threat.

Agriculture & Industry

Each island bases much of its feeding on Rice and fish, however Silla boasts some ranching. Much of their economies deal in ship building and manufacturing of trade goods from raw materials elsewhere.

The population of the kingdoms is on average well educated with each kingdom having its own education system however the Kingdom of Silla boasts of its own College of Creation considered on of the greatest colleges in the world a historic Rival to the college of Lore in the Edren Empire. On top of that there is also the Academy of Magics outside the city of silla which boasts a strong reputation in the field of Evocation.
