History
The story of House Emberscar starts with the dragon Driaokvalxioneeka, known to many Arnyekfoldians as Dreadwing. Having subjugated a number of other dragons and intimidated them into servitude, in 1273 AIT he took the name Emberscar and declared those who served under him as being part of Clan Emberscar.
In 1332 AIT, the dragon Hirzioniiakenxaen, also known as Hooktail, journeyed out from her home sphere of Crounereaume, seeking adventure. Hearing of the dark and dangerous lands of Arnyekfold, she managed to find her way there. Looking for a worthy challenge, she heard of the great dragon Dreadwing and immediately set out to challenge him.
In 1333 AIT, Hooktail found and challenged Dreadwing to a battle. The exact outcome of their fight is unknown to any but them and some of their most trusted associates. What is known as that both where severely mangled and impressed by the outcome, which blossomed into a romance.
In 1782 AIT, a most peculiar guest arrived in their territories, a demi dragon named Iraynjadry. He had founded the beginning of a dragon nation and had heard of Dreadwing's success in getting multiple dragons under his employ. Iraynjadry therefore wished to negotiate for him joining the Azi Empire. Dreadwing, intruiged by the potential, agreed with very few stipulations, accepting a subordinate role that played more to his own strengths. Thus the Emberscar Clan became House Emberscar and was given the responsibility of handling all matters military.
In 2352, the Azi Empire launched its largest military campaign yet, invading the sphere of Haritangala. The justification for the invasion was Haritangala's rich resources, which the native tsuchigumo, being somewhat isolationist, neither developed nor traded. Thus, it would be better of the Azi Empire took over so that the natural ressources could be used responsible. This lead to the seven year War of Burning Silk, which ended decisively at the capital city of Komure, when the tsuchigumo's prayers for aid called down an avatar of the Storm Weaver, Odin. The avatar faced the invaders and in single combat defeated Hooktail, who was leading the invasion, gravely wounding her in the process. This broke the offensive and the dragons were soon after pushed out of the sphere, ending the Azi Empire's military operations on the sphere.
In 2699 AIT, Dreadwing and Hooktail had their first kid, soon to be followed by others.
