Spirit

Animatic energy gives a spark to life. It is believed to play an essential part in the birth of emotions and passions, and thus is the material that the soul is made from. Yes, this energy can exist outside of a corporeal form. Such beings are called spirits.   Spirits come in many forms. Some are souls that have retained enough will or drive to remain post-mortem. Others spring from the wilds, born of an intermingling of animatic energy and the elements. And yet others come from stranger things yet. Spirits therefore come in all shapes and sizes and it would, at best, be difficult to summarize the great variety of spirits that exist. Their purpose and desires depends heavily on the type.   It is thus also difficult to describe how they would act if challenged in battle. However, spirits are all incorporeal and are therefore impossible to harm with mundane, physical objects. Only magic can interact with these beings.
