Andreu Jörin

Andreu is the son of Lord Rydolf Jörin and the heir to Jörinhall, a manor house and village north of Doltrek. Much to his father’s displeasure, Andreu valued scholarship and the use of etherea above the courtly duties prescribed to him, and as such he spent much of his time away from his father’s manor house. At a young age he became unlikely friends with Baldron Haywarde, despite the fact that Andreu is of noble (Halfae) blood, while Baldron was only a Vainite peasant boy from the village. The two nonetheless forged a tight kinship that would continue into their adulthood.

When the Witch Evanchoris' forces assaulted the royal palace at Doltrek killing all of the royal family in residence (Reneslar was away), Andreu and Baldron were hastily enlisted to accompany a contingent of soldiers secretly travelling west with Reneslar's infant son Morakar, now the sole surviving heir to the Doltrek throne. After many harrowing adventures and confrontations with the Witch’s minions, the quest concluded far to the west in the Greenwood, with Morakar delivered into safety.



Rather than returning home after the completion of their mission, Andreu studied for a year at the tower of Al-Miniath under the tutelage of Lady Elicia. It was with her guidance, along with secrets from the ancient tome of fire-etherea he found, that he honed his ethereal skills and became a mage of considerable power.
