Baldron Haywarde

Baldron Haywarde hails from the village of Jörinhall, a small peasant farming community north of Doltrek. Growing up as the only son on his meager family farmstead, he worked hard, grew strong, and developed a deep love for the land. At a young age he became unlikely friends with Andriu Jörin, the son of the lord of Jörinhall Manor and an aspiring etheric, forging a kinship that would continue into their adulthood. He also became close to Brother Aiden, the village pastor who helped him develop a deep and unwavering faith in Ukko.
When the Witch Evanchoris' minions assaulted the royal palace at Doltrek killing all of the royal family in residence (Reneslar was away), Baldron and Andriu were hastily enlisted to accompany Brother Aiden and a contingent of soldiers secretly travelling west with Reneslar's infant son Morakar, now his sole surviving heir to the Doltrek throne. On this mission, Baldron met and served under Lord Ukkassen for a short time. The quest concluded far to the west in the Greenwood, with Morakar delivered into safety.
In the Greenwood, Baldron studied for a year under Master Markesh (Grenton in disguise), a dryad-oblate from the Fae Order of the Butterfly, deepening his faith, communing with nature, and honing his combat skills.
Despite his now-elevated status in the world and his connections and friendships with powerful people (Ukkassen, Markesh, Elicia, Morakar), Baldron is not prideful, and retains the humility of his farm-boy upbringing.
