Council Member
Members of the Mage Council are seen as the people who run the nation of Sprawn Valley through various departments. There are two tiers of council members, those who are elected by the citizens, and those who appoint higher ranking members after being elected in. The council has enough political power to control or remove a sitting Leray champion if the circumstances call for it, with assistance from other political ranks, sometimes including the citizens themselves. Council members are also the ones in charge of a majority of Leray mages that run their collective departments. They write laws to be reviewed and signed by the Leray champion, while working as a team with the champion to oversee foreign relations.

Cultural Significance
The mage council is the strongest political backbone of Sprawn Valley, controlled in the eyes of the citizens by those who vote in members. The fear of a Leray champion behaving like a tyrant is reduced by the presence of a council, while any possibility of council misconduct can be mitigated by a Leray champion. It is because of this balance of power that Sprawn Valley endures freedom.
