Torunga
Torunga is a volcanic planet found in the Telos sector. Torunga's sun (named Torun) can be found to the galactic east of Telos IV, a short hyperjump away from the Listehol Run. Torunga has always been mineral rich, and during the height of the Sith Empire, it was a growing industrial world as well. Now that the Empire has fallen, it has regressed into a backwater mining world.
Geography
Torunga has only two functional starports, both of which serve as the primary trade locations for the mining communities scattered around their respective hemispheres; 'Torport Prime' is in the northern hemisphere, while 'Torport Beta' is in the southern hemisphere.
Other major planetary locations include the former capital city of Runlajjik. As it had been an important industrial center during the Great Galactic War, and the following Cold War, the Republic conducted a heavy bombardment of the capital as part of their final solution. As had been promised, locations selected for bombardment were given two standard weeks to evacuate, so immediate civilian casualties were minimal. In the present day, a several small communities known as Scrappers lives on the outskirts of the city, as well as other industrial cities on the planet. Scrappers send teams into the ruins to salvage valuables which they hope to sell at Torport prime.
Ecosystem
Torunga is fairly stable by volcanic planet standards. Most active volcanoes only erupt occasionally, spewing forth soot and ash, or pouring out rivers of dull grey lava.
Torunga is actually fairly distant from it's rather cool star, and most of it's warmth comes from geothermal activity, this leads to startling local thermal changes, mainly driven by a region's altitudes. Mountains and high plateaus resemble winter tundra, while lower plains and valleys can be swelteringly hot.
Most of the planet's limited water supply is subterranean, but eruptions regularly cause it to leak out as mud-lakes, or large rivers which flow until the water evaporates in the dry air. Clear lakes are extremely rare, and there are no permanent oceans. Water on Torunga cannot be safely drunk by most species without first filtering and processing it to remove heavy metals.
Fauna & Flora
Most of the natural plant life on Torunga is composed of an array of mosses, lichens, and fungi; much of it grows in enormous patchy fields.
The more dangerous local fauna on the planet include Krypthawks, Dinkos, and Hermessk. Feral Varactyls are not uncommon, as they are a popular mount with the locals.
Natural Resources
The most commonly mined metal on Torunga is Chanlon, an incredibly dense uncommon ore that is in demand for several industrial purposes, most notably it is a necessary component of phobium, a popular base material for the creation of power cells and emitters.
Chanlon mines will occasionally have veins of Xonolite, a much more valuable metal which is prized for its unusually high melting point.
Some communities have also had success mining for Marilite, though most of the gems found are only of industrial quality.
Tourism
While Torunga is a lawless world, its mineral wealth has necessitated at least a few locations with facilities for offworlders. Torport Prime has become the defacto capital of the planet. it's little more than a large town with a population of less than 30,000 people. There is currently no formal government, just a council that meets once per month comprised of representatives of the more powerful organizations in the town.
Czerka Arms have a large general store at Torport Prime which buys ore and processed metals from the locals and sells general supplies. They specialize in selling mining equipment and civilian grade weapons and security systems. They have built themselves a positive reputation with the community as they are willing to extend credit to miners who believe they have found a promising stake, or even to individuals who have fallen on hard times.
The Bumani Exchange Corporation have built a trade outpost at Torport Prime on Torunga specializing in medical equipment, environmental purifiers (air, water & soil), and bulk food supplies. They also offer contracts to locals who find themselves in need of work; these contracts come in a wide range including indentured service contracts, and mercenary recruitment. For the most part, Bumani have shown no interest in buying anything produced by the locals, save for very small amounts to cover local needs, they demand credits up front for all their goods. They do run a small charity clinic, but the medical droids are in poor condition, and they are nearly always out of the more useful medications.
Bumani also runs The Neutron Moon, the largest Saloon and Brothel in Torport Prime.
The rest of Torport Prime falls under the control of 3 major speeder gangs.

- The Stone Dragons control the actual spaceport with most of the landing pads.
- The Xesh-Hawks control the Marketplace.
- The Blazing Slugs control the Hovertrain depot (which does still operate and brings prospectors and scrappers in from hundreds of kilometers away), and the speeder track.
