The Hunt for Silar Mins: Act 5
General Summary
Down and out in Arcadia Station
Maintenance crews redouble their efforts, getting both the suffocating smoke and fire under control from the Techno Union attack.
At the same time, Arcadia Station security, haggard and tired, arrive to take the bomber into custody. Other attacks transpired across the station. Security mentioned three others that happened at the same time as this one.
While the rallying cry of “Remember the Truncheon” is stirring, it leaves more questions than answers. Why was the Truncheon so important as to start this small rebellion?
Greelo and Rushlight help Station Maintenance however they can deal with the sealed explosive. Across the way, past the crowd, the mysterious Cathar known as Mordecai Heller looks on.
Meanwhile, down in the grim reality of ‘Brown Sector’, the maintenance and recycling hub of Arcadia Station, Iwa emerges from the turbolift. She finds Dizzy standing over three figures laying on the deck plates.
(Iwa did not find Dizzy. She found someone else, wearing Dizzy's armor, pretending to be Dizzy: a woman named Maia. An ARC Trooper from a very small, very specialized pod ... who intends to find out who drugged and kidnapped her baby sister.

Important questions that need to be answered:
- Who planted all these bombs?
- Who drugged certain key individuals, discarded their gear and armor, and vanished with them?
- Where were the prisoners taken?
- Who, working across the Galaxy, is targeting the experimental sole pod of Clone Troopers designed to be female ARC Troopers?
- WHO TOOK DIZZY?!?
- Are her supposed "buddies" from the Banana Republic in on it?
- Is Morticia dead?
- Was the murder of Morticia intended by whoever planted these bombs?
- Did the organizer of this attack know that Morticia used to carry the former Director of Tapani Imperial Security on his most secret missions, the ones concealed even from the rest of the Tapani Imperium government?

Heh, heh. Short answer: "no"
Though, Iwa now has a deeper knowledge of police procedure! And what it's like to pilot a swoop bike at high speeds through a park! With a security officer across the hood of said speeder bike!
Rushlight has found the great utility of having station coveralls nearby! And... may have declared himself as Mordecai Heller's "brother" in public. In front of Mordecai. At least twice.
Greelo's giving his streetwise contacts a WORKOUT what with all the assassins that are on Arcadia Station ( At one point there was the comment "What, is there an assassin convention aboard?" )
Greelo also now knows that trying to stab yourself with your own tranq arrow to sneak a way into medical just miiiight not be a good idea ( he shook off the effects of his own toxin BEFORE it really took effect ).
And then ... there is what happened to Morticia. I'll let the others speak to that.

Rushlight is still in Shock at the horror he has witnessed in the docking bay, but has mind enough to go attempt to copy Morticia's hard drive if possible and he can rig some power to her.... definitely going to need S'reee on the com's giving him a walk through on that... we may have to get another shuttle somewhere, but he isn't leaving Morticia behind.
The GM's summary to out-of-town players:
I started off with Iwa meeting Maia. That went good and had a lot of RP. At the end of that, station security showed up and escorted the ladies back up out of brown sector. They weren’t arrested but the station cops were – as they had to explain to Iwa – just trying to get a picture of what was going on.
Meanwhile, Rushlight tries the “Brother Nupsie” trick on Mordecai Heller ( note this will come back to haunt them as Rushlight declares in public he is Mordecai’s “brother” ). Mordecai was just barely amused enough not to knife him. They talk things out, Mordecai explains the human clone is his apprentice AND his accountant. All he would say is that “Resnik has a complicated background. He might be related to the Star Empire’s Imperial consort. But that’s his story to tell.”
They didn’t bite on that bait. But they did resolve things peacefully and did agree to give Mordecai their copy of the chip ( note they plan on making a backup of the data and hand Mordecai a copy of the data on a chip to say “hey we gave you our copy of the data chip” ).
So, back to security… there were questions, Maia was kept separate from Iwa. The funny part there was that Iwa tried to stealth turn on her comlink. And rolled a one on the wild die.
So I had Captain Shan staring RIGHT at Iwa at that moment.
But the captain said nothing ( so the team went “oh DAMN! They’re recording and eavesdropping on us!!!!!!!! And thus starts the “but you said …” , “no, I whispered it away from my comlink… cause THEY MIGHT BE LISTENING!”. That went on through everything all night. Lol
Rushlight and Greelo went to search brown sector while the ladies were with the police. Rushlight got some station maintenance coveralls and wore them, “to blend in”. At one point Greelo heads up to try and spring Maia and Iwa from security but chooses the wrong turbolift. He takes the public one, not the maintenance one. So he gets “Dragon Con Elevator Trip” experience ( oh, look … another floor we’re stopping on ).
Rushlight bumps into security WHILE TALKING ALOUD OVER HIS COMLINK. So he plays like he’s sick, makes his con roll and heads up “to get to medical”. He uses the maintenance turbolift.
After that, they got caught up in an issue at the Med center in green sector because the cops mentioned something in front of the ladies. They find out that pilot, Hinaka Creed, had almost been murdered. The police were trying to cordon things off…
Naturally, as they are the heroes, they get involved. Rushlight tries to sneak around the barricades and over to medical across a wide passageway where there is no cover … yes … the big Cathar … open passageway. And he rolls a 1 on the wild die.
So security politely, but firmly, lead him back to the crowd of rubberneckers.
That’s when they spot four gunmen sneaking out a maintenance door wearing coveralls. Rushlight and Maia stay to deal with this side. Greelo talks Iwa into joining him. They go racing off the other direction, grab swoop scooters and zip off along a special “swoop lane” on the station ring. They plan on getting around to trap the bad guys from the other direction.
But Greelo underestimates how big the station is. They race around, all’s ok until they reach the station park. The swoop lane doesn’t go in there. But they drive in anyway, taking the swoop scooters off road. Then Iwa rolls a 1. She accidentally jets the swoop up and THROUGH a security watchtower. She comes out the other side with a terrified security guard sprawled over the hood of her swoop.
Greelo goes to speed up to get out of Iwa’s way … he rolls a 1. Which means when he tried, his swoop detected it was offroad and applied the brakes. They didn’t squash each other but Iwa got her swoop fins trapped on the back of Greelo’s swoop. So I made them do tandem piloting checks from there out until they got off the bikes.
In the end, Greelo and Iwa crash their swoops into two of the gunmen. Maia takes out the other two. Rushlight gives medical aid to two security officers then races into medical. He discovers there is a 5th assassin! He helps some with the poison that was used on Hinaka Creed and learns that the dart that took out Dizzy is being used with more than one chemical.
Rushlight chases the 5th assassin, 5th assassin has some cybernetics that lets him run ahead … and into the Gemini Twins on the promenade. Thinking they are being mugged, they just *destroy* that assassin. Then politely hand him over to Rushlight and head on their way. Now the group thinks there is an assassin convention going on.
They regroup outside of medical where Maia had just been treated for her wounds ( she got shot three times but was still going … she rolled a 34 on her 'shake off stunned wound level' ), but before they get a breather, the station sirens go off. There’s another explosion! This time on blue sector, the docking ring.
They call S'reee who is aboard the Banana Republic … S'reee is flipping out because he can’t contact or even *see* Morticia. Rushlight runs up there, grabs a rebreather while seeing the overworked station maintenance guys carry off some plant based bomb ( it looked like a giant purple potato with sparking vines ). He runs to Morticia’s docking bay … and part of the station has speared into Morticia. Cockpit, wing, engines, just tore her apart.
At that moment, a Spartan Imperium Corvette shows up. The group gets this message:
“This is Commander Enric Kaede of the Spartan Imperium Corvette Vivisector. We have reason to believe you are in possession of stolen Imperium property. By your reputation, you lot aren’t the thieves but we would appreciate our property returned. We will compensate you the cost you spent to acquire the ship, which should not have been for sale. The item of interest is one “svelte class” shuttle, designation MRTSA-937. We await your answer, Vivisector out.”
As the power faded in Morticia’s ruined parts, and they put together “MRTSA” = “Morticia” ( and Rushlight *immediately* tried deny it was stolen … I had to remind him yes they paid but they bought a ship with the serial numbers scraped off … ) I closed the session for the night.
OH MAN did I get frowny face from the whole group with a round of “SPUTTER!!!”
