Dux (/duk͡s/)

A Dux is a member of the aristocracy, appointed by the Emperos, whose role is the governance of a large or important territory. Usually they are referred to by either the primary settlement of their territory or the territory, itself (ex. the Dux of Brundelium). A Dux rules until dismissed, and the position is not hereditary.
