Synod

The Synod is the first level of connection between the local Church and the broader community of faith. Every Church belongs to a Synod made up of anywhere from five to two or three hundred Churches. Each of these Churches is autonomous and headed by an Epískopos, but they convene regularly at a Sýnodos Episkópon to harmonize their doctrines and practices. The select a high ranking member of the Klíros to act as their representative (Mitropolítis) to the Symvoúlio Mitropolitón, as well as to preside over the Sýnodos Episkopón.
