Saint Evangyl
Saint Evangyl is a minor saint of the Church of Serkatha that was canonized in the First Age in the time of the Foundation of Styx.
Evangyl Baranovo, as she was named in her living days, was born a peasant but later in life found her calling within the Church of Serkatha and became a High Priestess through direct calling of Serkatha herself.
She primarily acted as a defender of the peasant class and was canonized as the patron saint of farmers.
The main reason she is considered a minor saint within the Church of Serkatha after the Great Revolution is that despite her peasant-defending ways she was a High Priestess and deeply loyal to the God Empress making her an unpopular choice for a saint to be propagandized to greatness by the Temple Parliament.
The mortal remains of Saint Evangyl are kept today in the Old Church of Saint Evangyl, the primary landmark of Evengrad as relics of the Church of Serkatha.
Peasants from all over the City of Styx make pilgrimages to the Old Church to petition the saint for health and abundance.
