Wsadniki Humans
The Wsadniki Humans are a minority race living in the city of Styx.
The Wsadniki are descendants of humans driven underground by the cataclysm known as the Bright.
These humans have adapted to the Deeplands considerably and have roamed the plains eastwards of Styx with their horses for centuries.
Wsadniki have a culture based around the ideals of self-reliance, honor and hardiness.
They have been employed as specialized cavalry in the armies of the Duchy of Sharhaven since the Middle Ages and are famed for their horsemanship.
In Styx the Wsadniki are often stereotyped as brutish wilderfolk, better than the Forestfolk but not by a large margin and are additionally sometimes conflates or confused with the Kholyn Orcs, another entirely unrelated culture and species that stems from farther east than the Wsadniki and is also traditionally nomadic.
It is said that the Wsadniki bond with closely with their horses, often choosing a yearling and training it from a young age onward leading to a rider's bond being far deeper than is common in Styx. The level of connection and understanding between the Wsadniki riderfolk and their steeds is said to be almost mystical.
