Lady Wachter's Cult

Little is known about this cult, and our heroes don't have firm confirmation that Lady Wachter was involved at all, but it seems the most likely conclusion after a few clues:

• A cult of some sort was trying to abduct two of our heroes (Sylvain and Bodaway) at the The Festival of the Blazing Sun.
• The Lady Wachter told our heroes about a prophecy she had been given by Madam Eva long ago, concerning the coming of an outsider from another land that would — after a great purge — lead to the sun shining on Vallaki once more.
• The cultist Sylvain abducted carried a token with a sun symbol on it.
• Said cultist claimed he was trying to abduct people "for the prophecy."
• When shown the token, Ispati recognized the symbol, and said he'd seen friends of the Lady Wachter wearing it.

What the cult's exact goals are, and why they needed one or more members of the group to fulfill those goals, is unknown. However, if this cult does indeed follow the Lady Wachter's prophecy, and if the Lady Wachter told the group the truth about that prophecy, it would seem they are looking to free Vallaki from at least part of Barovia's curse, to bring sun to their town once more.
The current status of the group, in the wake of the riots and the Lady Wachter's death, is unknown.
