Using his tactical prowess, superior forces, and uncanny luck, Tabat the Great then led his troops in a 12-year-long war of conquest beginning in that transformed his estate in Belfosa to a fledgling unified nation of city-states. He first attacked the larger cities along the Inner Sea coast that posed the greatest threat. Once he had secured their allegiance and resources, he turned his attention on the more distant settlements of the area. He then declared his new nation as the Principalities of Tordal, ruling over an area that stretched across the Northern coast of Saskhij.
The beast known as the Titan of Elemental Fire rampaged across the Pentaregnum Mountains and into Tordal. The city of Tabat was destroyed in the process and although the nation eventually recovered, the wounds of the rampage can still be seen across the land.
Taldor continued to grow and expand, but did not truly become an empire until the beginning of the Age of Reformation and the founding of the First Army of Exploration, a now-legendary collection of soldiers, scholars, diplomats, surveyors, spies, and adventurers. It headed north along the Kaku River from Tabat in 37 AR, conquering as far as what today is the city of Gonarzade in Gandarab.
Their efforts were enlarged by the Second Army of Exploration in 499 AR, who traveled farther than the first, all the way to the edges of Badia. The army greatly expanded both the military and economic reach of the empire by building numerous supply depots, many of which eventually grew into larger settlements.
The Third Army of Exploration was perhaps the most successful. Once again beginning in Tabat , it clung to the northern coast of the Marianan Ocean, conquering westward all the way to the Kanmar BAy. It founded the city of Borkesh in 1520 AR under General Boren, thereby securing control of the western access to the Mariana for the empire.
The exploits of the Fourth Army of Exploration were minor compared to the Third, but they still managed to bring the area known today as Augustia under their control by 1683 AR, along with a brief (and unsuccessful) foray into the dwarven-controlled Pentaregnum Mountains. After defeating the native tribes of the region, Augustia became the newest province of Tordal in 1707 AR.
After Tordal 's Seventh Army of Exploration defeated Savaria's indigenous inhabitants, the Savarians . The Savarians fought the Tordaleans tenaciously, but were eventually conquered and pacified. In recognition of their great courage and determination, the Tordalean crown named their newest province after the tribe.
The dwarven nation of Mat Khadur was founded in 1392 ZR in the Pentaregnum Mountains northeast of Savaria, and its capital, Khadhal, became an important center of trade in the region. It became so important that the governments of the Tordalean provinces of Savaria and Saol petitioned the dwarves to build a surface city to increase their access to dwarven goods and services. Jern Kanton was built as a sister-city of Khadhall in 1220 ZR and quickly became a trade center for over 500 years until both cities were destroyed by the eruption of the volcano Dogrim's Crag in 691 ZR.

Conflict in Saskhij between forces of law and freedom brought about with the formation of Andreus' Skymarch and crusade across the continent. Andreus fell to a dart on the field of Pencar.
The Goblinhorde Wars were a series of conflicts first fought between the army of Savaria and hundreds of goblinoid tribes of the Gaftzleck Forest. It eventually expanded to include forces from neighboring nations in an effort to contain the rapidly expanding hordes.
