Quest: Spirit in the Woods

Spirit in the Woods is a quest which the player can do in The Dunfor Forest. The player does not need to be part of any faction in order to do this quest. It is a Non-Faction Quest.

This quest is given to the player by Noori Hallsbherg to find Snubled Hallsbherg.

Structure

Exposition

The Dunfor Forest is well known as a dangerous forest. Many dangerous wild animals such as Grey Wolf and Giant Grizzly Bear inhabit the forest. Some people even say that the forest is cursed with an evil spirit, though this belief is not widespread. Many people go missing in the forest each year, most just write this off as people getting lost, falling victim to bandits, or the dangerous animals that inhabit the forest got them.

The Wendigo is the main advisory in the quest, although it is possible for the player to come across other enemies, such as bandits, when doing the quest.

The quest takes place in The Dunfor Forest, and the nearby town.

Threats

The Wendigo is the main threat in this quest, although this does not become known by the player until after the player returns to the forest to find the hunter slaughtered

Encounters

This is a basic outline of the quest to banish the Wendigo :
1. Recieve the quest to look in forest for a missing person
2. When you exit the location to start the quest an old woman confronts you about forest spirit, you can either call the woman crazy or tell her you will keep an eye out for it
3. accompany the hunter to look in the forest
4. With hunter find the bodies and encampment
5. Hunter sends you back to fetch village wise man and some troops
6. Return to find hunter slaughtered, on the cusp of death he says it was the forest spirit
7. Follow blood train and find wendigo
8. Fight the wendigo
9. Talk to old woman about the forest spirit
10. Find out about the curse
11. Find out how to lift the curse
11a. Get revenge on the men who killed the forest spirits family
11b. Banish the forest spirit by finding out who cast the curse

Past Events

Many Hundreds of years ago, The Wendigo was once an Elf, this elf had his family slaughtered and raped by Human Invaders on The Continent. He died seeking justice for his family at the hands of human invaders. The Elf in his dying breath cursed the forest. This curse caused him to be reborn as a Wendigo.
