The main dominant species of the Haan Archipelago, the societarians, has a rich cultural and political history in each of the many islands they built their nations on.
The start of the Era of Alzufhars is marked by the first pact made between these creatures and the societarians. This is said to have happened in the island of Dhalmain, where it perdures nowadays as one the most complex pacts made by societarians.
The explosion of the star Vulkenar was visible from Vhas through 11 months and gave birth to the theory of magnetars and the myth of the Glorious Vulkenar's Telescope. This event also lifechanging for those who followed the Cult to the Stars, and started the tradition of the Mourning of Vulkenar in the island of Ruh.
As the only producers of Teobrew, products such as coffee, cacao and chocolate were unknown to the rest of the archipelago up to this point save for their only allies, the nation of Ruh. The arrival of coffee to the islands caused a cultural and productivity explosion without precedent.
Located on the northeast coast of the Dhalmain Island, The City of Primarin was devised as a means to honour Primarite, the Law of Space in the Dhalmanite religion of Autonomism.
The town was founded in 2779 E.Alz by priests of Primarite with the purpose of honouring the Law of Space by expanding the physical space dedicated to her.
The priests chose a promising spot in the mostly uninhabited north end of the island, generally ignored by the rest of the population due to the threat of tetsus in the area, and erected the first areas of the temple in a high spot with a view of the river and coast.
These settlers brought their families and preached to Primarite's followers back in the rest of the country to follow them in their goal, offering lands, loans and help from the Temple to build and settle in the area.

Rosscot Nouverre, a Dhalmanite explorer, was founded by her government to set a camp on an uninhabited area of the southern islands to gather information, resources, and hopefully expand the Dhalmanite control through the archipelago. Rosscot set out south on 18th of Harvesting of 2981 E.Alz leading a team of 54 people and 18 alzufhar to set up a camp in the north area of the closest island. The camp operated for two years bringing important information and resources back to Dhalmain, but then suddenly stopped communicating, and all attempts to reach them ended with the sailors never being seen again.
After four months of tensions between tetsus and societarians for territory, the tetsu that came to be known as Tetramerge united all tetsus in Dhalmain to retaliate against the Dhalmanite advance in the southern mountains.
In a matter of days, the tetsus pushed the societarians back to the coasts in a terrible massacre.
Tesel, queen of Merthiorn and mother of prince Virgilim (whom was, until then, viceroy of Red Crest) decides to give the control of the islands to her son, granting independency to the region and turning it into a principality.
As the Honourable Prince of Red Crest Virgilim strenghtened his hold surveillance on the "morals" of the population the big but informal circle of philosophers from theCity of Vythlan took, at the same time, a more serious and more irreverent stance, becoming louder, bigger and more noticeable, and adopting the name of Circlecrats once their fame set in as a group of self-indulging good-for-nothings.
The epidemy of blackout affected the populations of Stunveldt and Ruh greatly during the years of 3000 to 3002 E.Alz.
In Reaping 23rd, 3004 E.Alz, the plant thorn child was found to be useful in the making of a medicinal beverage against it, which stopped the disease and its spread almost instantly, controlling the spread of it and giving the epidemy an end.
This cure has, however, a small chance of producing thorns, a short term disease characterized by a blind rage. No cure or preventive measures have been found against thorns, though the creation of thorn cells have helped the control and treatment of the affected people.

In order to retaliate against King Rastapuj's War on Pirates, the pirate Heliom united several other pirate crews to invade the City of Dia. In a matter of days they infiltrated the king's palace, kidnapped his son and publicily beheaded him. Queen Tesel of Merthiorn succumbs to the rust after a short agony. Her family would follow her shortly thereafter.
Due to the altitude of its buildings, the totality of the city-state of Bregos was affected by the The High Rust. Eventually, almost all of its inhabitants fled or died, and most of its buildings were left abandoned and ruined.
Seeing this taming of Dinner the tetsu just after the fall of Merthiorn as a sign, the Merthiornites sought Naelin's and the tetsu's protection and crowned him the king of their new country, the Kingdom of Thaur. With this, Dinner becomes the Symbol of Power of the island.
On this day a 35 year old Kartian farmer called Kej died of Rust becoming the last casualty of the The High Rust.
The Kingdom of Karte received a very low impact of the High Rust due to having most of its population on plains and close to coasts, but the unfortunate farmer lived close to the mountains and took his livestock to graze upstream.
He was slowly affected and by the point he stopped going up the mountains it was too late, as he died due to complications of the organs that were already affected by thr rust.
The Honourable Prince of Red Crest, Virgilim, received the control of the island when his mother, queen of the Kingdom of Merthiorn, gave them "independency" by ascending his son from viceroy to prince.
Virgilim made several changes to laws in the areas of taxation and morality, slowly but steadily forcing Red Crest to become a prudish, distrustful nation.
When Merthiorn fell during the High Rust, the prince had to rule by himself having never really learned to do so.
Tensions raised, and The Circlecrats, an organization of rowdy, heavily political philosophers, took the opportunity to get into action, releasing the Manifesto for the burning of morals
The Manifesto was a short pamphlet calling to oppose the prince and erase his rule and his mark in their culture as to liberate the people from the weight of the principality's abusive taxation and allow them to enjoy their life and intimacy freely.
Veld and their team started working on the new compilation of the Books of Habits and Beasts around 3012 E.Alz. As the High Rust hit the archipelago and impacted most things in it, it required intense updating and rewriting for a team that was as hit by the consequences of the High Rust as anybody else. Though many of the collaborators and consulted professionals were lost to the rust, Veld and their closer circle considered the situation to require a second edition even more urgently, as many were using the periodic magazines to get accurate information on the situation of other islands, and sending their own news to Veld's team to research on. In an incommensurate team effort, the second edition of The Book of the Habits and Beasts was released on 03/03/03 of the new Era of Rust, and the team continued ever since writing, updating and researching, preparing for a widely requested 3rd edition.
As the second edition of the book was a work focused on gathering the most comprehensive information possible on the Rust and its effects and to make it available as quickly as possible, many on the team felt it to be a rushed work.
Immediately after release, they focused on polishing the encyclopaedia and revamping the design, making it a more enjoyable and attractive read.
Other areas of the encyclopaedia were reworked on their entirety, such as its timelines.
Welkinal prominently reworked the zoology articles and polished the artworks, bringing both astounding reference pictures and decorative illustrations.
Their advertising pamphlet was reworked in time for the release of the brand new edition.
