Caecilia Flameseer
Caecilia's magical affinity for fire was discovered early, and she was whisked away to the Berythian school to master the art. During her training, she exhibited an uncanny sensitivity to the Exiled gift, initially manifesting as fainting spells whenever an Exiled mage tried to heal in her vicinity, permitting their detection. Due to this she was isolated by the Berythian Masters from the rest of her peers to keep her under close watch, which allowed her to hone her skills independently, ultimately outpacing her colleagues.
Her peculiar sensitivity turned out to be a boon. She discovered that she could see and manipulate the spectral threads of the Exiled gift that others couldn't perceive. The elders at the Column of Taharjin recognized this potential and assigned her the responsibility of training the junior members of the Order of the Razor, which she accepted without hesitation.
In her youth, she was known to be fiercely independent, rejecting numerous suitors for the pursuit of her studies. As a young adult, however, a scandalous event saw her entangled with a noble from Draksineon, rumored to be involved with the Galorican crime syndicate, The Castlemoons. This connection could have been her ruin, but she was able to navigate the predicament, leaving her reputation tarnished but intact. Physically, however, some dire event somehow part of this episode led to her aging process being accelerated: though only 41, Caecilia appears to be nearer her 60s. Due to the obvious evidence it produced, the tale continue to haunt her.
The incident left her hardened and cautious, making her the stern but fair mentor she later became. When the young pupil, Dinu Skhuzh, came under her wing, she saw in him a reflection of her younger self – a bright spark, with a talent laced with similar darkness. She guided and disciplined him, and perhaps even began to see him as a son.
Yet, as Dinu grew older, she found her feelings for him straying from the motherly concern she had first felt. Whether it was Dinu's resilience or his unwavering dedication to his training, something stirred within her. However, her past made her hesitant to show these feelings openly, making her become colder, more distant, especially when Dinu began his relationship with Cara Redglass, another promising ingenue of the Razor school.
