Obaul is a territory where politics never sleeps. Its capital, Vinspir, serves as a bulwark against the overflow of tension from the fractured Liij, a neighbouring nation torn between the People's Domain of Clairvistra and the Royal Realm of Dalexcai. Vinspir is a cauldron where political maneuvering is honed to an art, albeit a far more pragmatic art than the high-minded affairs of Metholister. The city's constant vigilance is directed not only towards Liij, but also towards the looming Uvan Empire, whose ideology the state paints to be contagious. Hence, the capital is a shining beacon of Oraltian identity, a stalwart reminder to its citizens of who they are in the face of a potential Uvan 'zombification.'   Away from Vinspir, life in Obaul unfolds with varying degrees of tranquility. The city of Binallared serves as a crucial trade stop and waystation between Vinspir and Liij. Its size mirrors the scale of the industries that have burgeoned to support its pivotal role in import/export and transit. Conversely, tucked away by the Geldak Sea, the city of Methush breathes a sigh of relief for its remote location. Life here moves at a more languid pace, absent the constant undercurrents of political intrigue. But this calm also begets a certain monotony, rendering Methush less appealing to tourists in search of artistic and cultural stimulation.   Throughout Obaul, shrines dot the landscape, with notable clusters in northern towns like Tothidwid and Ounducess. Smaller villages are scattered throughout, with a palpable divide between the wealthier south and the poorer north. The south, blessed with maritime access to southern Tyril and the continent of Pendahar, enjoys the fruits of trade while the north looks on in yearning.
