Shooting Star is where the Congregation of the Ascended, the continent’s dominant faith, conducts its services once per week on Apparan, and during Grand Festivals. Congregants gather in the Empty Field (Nagul*: ˈEiriȕ ˈInco), so-named for the preference for open air rituals held by the Drakoyan people since their nomadic past eras ago. The Temple is opened up to the public only during Grand Festivals, when even the nobles of Oddgarden attend. The rest of the time, bluebloods use a private prayer area.
The centrality of astrology in the religion explains the lofty House of Heavenly Bodies, a towering observatory and archive containing centuries of starry calculations. (In Bent Coin, perhaps predictably, exists a brothel of the same name.) Entrance to the House is forbidden to all but Tellers, the Congregation’s effective priests.
