Julian Alabaster
Julian Alabaster, formerly Henrietta, was a renowned necromancer, the savior of Levinbolt, and the old master of the Alabaster Mansion. Turned into a banshee by mysterious and nefarious means, he roamed the lower levels of the estate, until Kapital discovered him and ended his undeserved suffering.
Description
Born as Henrietta, but finding peace as Julian, he was a tall half-elven man with a distinctive white streak in his jet-black hair.Relationships
While Henrietta, affectionately called Hattie, was loved by the people of Levinbolt, Julian was more reserved, preferring to stay in his mansion. The necromancer especially enjoyed the company of Maggie and Eleanor Stormspinner. Julian did not view the undead who served him as servants. He cared for them, and they loved and mourned him after his death. Deep under the mansion, in a hidden lead-lined hallway, powerful undead creatures, such as mummies and bone nagas, were trapped within and raging against their cells. In reality, Julian was attempting to reform these creatures to work with him willingly, rather than compelling them to do his bidding with magic.History
The "Alabaster Twins" devised Levinbolt's infrastructure. Harnessing the mysterious power of "electricity," the necromancer made the city a Gaean technological marvel; all of Levinbolt was "wired" to his estate. In his youth, Julian dueled the general of darakhul armies and drove them from the city. As a further precaution, he forbade the general from entering his home, which included all of Levinbolt because of the electrical connections. As such, it was important that the power never fully went out, giving Julian another reason to seclude himself in his mansion. When Henrietta "passed away," the people were mournful, while Julian finally found some semblance of peace and made fewer and fewer public appearances in Levinbolt. By excessively casting dream, a darakhul mage caused Julian to suffer from recurring nightmares; the necromancer grew paranoid and obsessively researched rituals to prevent himself from turning into a banshee, even though no such spell existed. However, the damage had been done to his psyche, and Julian cut off his own nose "to spite his face" and took his own life, turning him irreversibly into a banshee. As Kapital explored the depths of the Alabaster Mansion, they discovered the truth of Julian's fate and confronted the creature he had become in his personal chambers. Although powerful, the banshee was finally slain by a divine smite from Ravix. Sadly, because of the way he died, Julian would not be able to rest in peace. Prior to his descent into madness, the necromancer had the foresight to leave his estate to his closest living friends: the Stormspinners. He only asked that they never sell the mansion, knowing that the fate of Levinbolt held in the balance.Henrietta and Julian
