More of a title than a single creature, the Rat King is the leader and figurehead of the
ratlings. As prophecied by
Squeakers, "the Rat King will be born anew whenever a brave rat kills and consumes the acting Rat King."

Kapital as they infiltrated its lair to rescue
Petra Lang.
Description
Much larger than even the ratling brutes, the Rat King manifests as a corpulent
mutant sitting atop a throne of filth and scraps.
Personality
The most recent Rat King was bloodthirsty and prideful. It was unaware of or unconcerned by Squeakers's prophecies that undermined its leadership.
Abilities
Despite its own strength, the creature's greatest power is its command over its overwhelming masses of minions.
History
According to
Garrick Faulkner, four separate bounties have been turned in for creatures calling themselves the Rat King; after days or weeks, it always seemed to return.
When Kapital infiltrated the
Rat's Nest Tavern, they found Petra held hostage in the Rat King's throne room. Refusing to kneel, the group battled the king's minions, weakened the monster with an arrow to the throat, and freed Petra by playing on the Rat King's prideful nature. Ultimately,
Tim Ward felled the creature with a javelin infused with holy light.
