Peryani the Wise

Among all temple matrons, Peryani the Wise is one of the greatest living ones. This may seem like an exaggeration, but the wizened, greyed gnoll with white hair in braids is a shrewd, intelligent, and politically gifted woman whose understanding an connection to her faith and her faithful is deep as the sea. Although she is pushing a hundred years old, she still operates a large network of agents across Chandris that feed her information about every small thing that happens in the city. Thirty years ago, she survived the massacre of Indira Ashtaar's attendants and Beloved guards, using political leverage to maintain her position and plausible deniability, while protecting and hiding both of the Courtesan of the Gods's children: the eight-year old Ishani Khan Ashtaar and the newborn Chandra Ralik. If stealing the crown prince of Chandris and hiding her from the Golden Army sounds impressive to you, you would be correct. She was hated by Ishaal Khan, who could do nothing to permanently harm her or her position as temple matron at the Vase, until his death.
She currently serves as protector of Syenine Yasha, and is one of the few people who know that the girl is not truly the Courtesan of the Gods and cannot see visions. She is the one who can still get mail to and from Chandris for the party, who have been exiled.
