Tres Fangrys Eyel (TRACE fang-GRIS aye-EL)
(a.k.a. Dr. Sabine Acantis, The Lich Duchess)
Tres Fangrys Eyel is a notoriously unpredictable and powerful lich known on the northern continent as "The Lich Duchess", where she has her tower. In Lodone, she masquerades as "Dr. Sabine Acantis", a professor at the Cirtan Medical Academy, and seems to spend much of her time there as of late.
One of the few changelings in Talonn, Tres has been fascinated by anatomy her whole life, a fascination encouraged by her adoptive drow father Hav Tarya Eyel . Hav, who found Tres and her sister At as infants, was an exiled member of the Underdark cult of Shar-- a group devoted to the demon Lolth disguised as their goddess. Upon discovering his daughter's shapeshifting abilities, he became infatuated with the idea that they could attain a "perfect" form as drider priestesses and he could once again be a part of the cult. Tres bought into the idea of "perfection" far more than At did, and displayed an innate talent with shapeshifting that her sister did not. As Tres grew, she learned how to warp her anatomy to add extra limbs, and was praised for it by her proud father, who knew nothing about changelings or the physical toll such a mutation could take on a child.
At and Tres were orphaned at age 12, when Hav's ambitions drew unfriendly attention from the leadership of the cult. The twins managed to escape to the surface, where after adolescence their paths diverged. Tres denounced At's interest in divinity, and turned to science. Over the course of her life Tres has earned twelve different degrees in science and magic from schools all over Talonn, sometimes returning to institutions multiple times in different disguises. She and At did not age as quickly other humanoids did, but at age 66 Tres became a lich to stave off death forever.
Tre's research pivoted from medical science to necromancy, and back. Her focus in the last fifty years has been flesh golems, and before that infectious diseases. She holds one liberal arts doctorate in world history. Recently, Tres claims to have been commissioned to create a deadly magical disease that turns the living into undead puppets for a single controller, but will not divulge who the commissioner was or what she got in payment.
Tres first encountered some of the party in Czyernik , where Abiyr Arsolum , Alden Blackwell , Katarine de Masque , and Bendin Quik'and defeated her in defense of At. Tres psychologically tormented the party by first appearing as a horrifying amalgam of their deceased loved ones that slowly assembled itself before them, and had been doing experiments with Hate Wisp essence before their arrival for some time.
After being defeated, Tres again appeared in Cirta's Medical Academy during the party's visit to Katarine's graduate lab. She insisted that she wanted to be left alone, but provoked Abiyr enough for him to storm off. She later offered to teach Katarine about flesh golems.
When the party defeated the false Gotha the Bloodied, the suspicion turned onto the Medical Academy dislodged Tres's alias Sabine Acantis and put her research under heavy scrutiny by Dr. Ovid Imaud and Ruana Smith . Tres, furious at the interruption, blamed the party for the mess and teleported away during the investigation. Bill Stoneheaver later used Sending to apologise.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Tres, in her normal form of "Sabine Acantis", is a gaunt drow woman with black hair, although a patch of white is growing around her temples. She has sharp features and an unfriendly, tired look about her. She wears a worn lab coat over simple outfits of pants and mock-necks, always with long sleeves. In her changeling form, only her coloration changes from dark purple-grey to white, with white hair and eyes.

- Tres is notorious for being obsessively clean in the department, far beyond any other doctor. Janitors HATE her. However, a clean lab has been known to impress her, or so the rumor goes among the grad students.
- She seems to eat rarely, claiming that food disgusts her. It is unknown if this is true, but either way she does not need to eat as a lich.
- Tres either loves or hates birds. It is unclear which, as she uses their bodies frequently in her research.
