City of Halas

A large elven city on Leaf Shield Lake, it is one of the largest cities in the western continent of Oraheim. In the past it has often gone to war with the city of Orahero for control of the great forest.

Demographics

The area of Tanaheim known as the Forest Realms is actually the subcontinent of Oraheim. It is the westernmost reaches of the main continent of Tanaheim. It is known for it's dense forests and tall mountains. It is also home to the great Elven families that have ruled it for millenia. Throughout it's history it has often undertaken wars of imperialism and trade wars against the other countries in Tellenheim and Ventenheim.
In our current age it is under the Durrilan/Thelypteris Concordat of Peace signed in SF 341 and has settled into a rather prosperous peace with the other realms. They have major embassies in Vellen Falls, Penthos, and Lamborginus as well as a presence in several universities in those cities as well.
Though they have had peace with the other human governed areas of Tellenheim they have often waged war against their elven neighbors.  The capital city of the Oru nation they have often fought over land with the Ora Nation.

Government

Halas is currently governed by a Monarchy made up of House Thelpyteris.  Peryton Thelypteris is the current king and has held that position for the last 250 years. He has six children who all have major government positions in the city.
