Thes'set Desert
The Thes'set Desert is an ungoverned, wilderness desert country, located southwest of The Lonely Line.
The country is sparsely inhabited, the scattered towns and settled areas being remote and far between. It is also the home of nomadic and semi-nomadic desert tribes, who have existed there since the Ancient Era.
Although much remains unknown about this land and the culture of the desert tribes, it seems that most of the nomads practice sand worship and true-earth religion. They are said to have unparalleled survival, hunting, and scouting skills. Some say that the nomads also practice their own form of magic derived from sand worship. These tribes, especially farther into the land's borders, are secretive and very good at not being found, unless they wish to be. They are known to keep and ride basilisks.

...we ventured on, each step casting us farther and farther from civilization. I understood that we now existed outside of the known world, passing through places that had no names, or perhaps that had been named long ago, and had already risen and fallen, unknown to us.
