Back in its heyday it was called the Portal Master's Suite. Everyone whose anyone had a home in the nearby houses and traveled around the world using the portals in there.

Purpose / Function

Grimgate House was originally constructed to transport people across Tarantellia. The circular building was constructed around a garden and the natural tree portal that remained open to the air. The ring of rooms around this garden contained portals that led to specific continents and kingdoms across the world.

Alterations

The rooms in Grimgate House have had multiple purposes.
When the building was referred to as the Portal Masters' Suite, the rooms were set up for teleportation and housing for visitors.
After the portals' destruction, the rooms were repurposed for storage of goods and supplies for repairing the town.
Once the Decade Disappearances began to claim lifes of the Grimmers, the building was more or less left abandoned.
Without use from governing forces, transient adventurers have used it as a home base for escapades into the Arachnae Wilderness.

Architecture

The Portal Masters' Suite was built using glittering bricks and stones from the Northcrown Mountains funded by the Clearsparks.
The repairs made to the building were done from plain stones. The mortar was made from less sturdy materials as the Clearsparks thought they could bring the Portal House back to its former glory.
The most recent repairs have been completed by the Whispershadows. Without importing too many supplies, they send people to reconstruct Grimgate House, shops, and residential buildings with found supplies from destroyed parts of the city.
