Myr-Tarinial

In the distance, the tower stands, forever a reminder of the larger mysteries of the world.

Myr-Tarinial sits on a smaller island north of Il'Luu'iv'itar. The island itself is considered the holiest of places among the Dominion. On the island sits a massive tower of unknown origin that seems to reach high into the heavens. On the outside of the tower itself is large murals of figures, and creatures, and shapes, depicting scenes that no one truly remembers or knows of.    Scholars from all over the lands request access from the Alla'Shar Dominion to come and study it, but few ever get the chance to. The Dominion is protective of it, especially considering their official belief that it is the throne of Corellon. What scholars know for certain is that every so often a new carving appears in the smooth white marble of the tower, adding to the already extensive mural, but for what significance they can not say.

Purpose / Function

None truly know why the tower exists, but the following are the most common speculations:
  1. It's a record of past events.
  2. An Elvish vanity project.
  3. A burial mound.
  4. The place where Corellon departed the world.
  5. An ancient lighthouse.
  6. A star map.
Some also claim that since the markings magically appear on the outside of the tower at certain points in history, that eventually once all of the towers is filled up, that the world will come to an end.

Architecture

One thing that is known for certain, is that it's incredibly old, and the design is not elvish in nature. Dominion scholars suggest it's divine inside and out.

History

It has existed before the Dominion, and some say it will be there long after. While many have tried to understand it's mysteries, no breakthrough or progress has been made, and scholars around the world continue debating to this day what it's true purpose is.
