The Pact Primeval

The Gods turn to desperation in the face of the dæmon horde. Creating the last of their Pantheon; the Slayer, the Shadow, and the Lady to push back the tide.

The unrelenting onslaught of the Dæmons hordes drives the Sovereign Host to desperation. The Scholar sacrifices a piece of his godhood to tear a hole in Creation to the place mortals were not meant to know. His piece of divinity returns from the tear as the Shadow; God of secrets, the space between the Weave, the variable in the great equation of the Creation.   Terrified and enraged at the Host's actions The Wretch That Must Not Be Named, an archangel of the Solar, gathers like-minded angels, and steals a piece of the divinity from his patron, gifting it to the Titans, with it free will, magic, and ownership of their own souls. The King of the Titans leads his brethren into the abyss accompanied by the fallen archangel and his host. With unrelenting fury they tear through layer after layer, devastating the Dæmon hordes.   The Host take notice and bestow the King of Titans with a terrible divinity  with the name given to him by the Dæmons who cowered in his wake: the Slayer. With unrelenting fury and unyielding blade, strengthened by the gifts of the Wretch That Must Not Be Named, and bolstered by his divine spark, the Slayer tears through the Abyss to the heart of Khyber, but before he could strike the fatal blow, the Dæmon Lords muster the last of their strength to bind him.   The Shadow takes advantage of the terror of the other gods after the failure of their champion, and whispers dark secrets from beyond reality. The gods listen and give birth to a new deity with a piece from each of them, granting her access to all of their domains. The Lady takes her place as the last of the nine divines, shifting the scales in their favor and finally turning the tide against the Dæmon lords weakened by the rampage of the Slayer.
