Lyse Thalor
The center of the Larkin Empire and largest city of the Underplane. Sprawling upwards from a crater far below the earth, this curling monument of a city is built upwards around the rim and edge of the depression, making it a towering city that stretches to the heavens along jagged rocks. With a wide open ceiling above and long columns stretching in odd directions, it is a picturesque and beautiful landscape very few will ever see on the surface.
Demographics
The population is split fairly evenly over the terraces. Very little poverty or squalor conditions exist here, as much of the wealth, food, and other goods are shared within the levels of classes within the society as well as the city. There are ruling figures, but they are respected more than they have power.
Government
The government heart of the Empire exists here as the ruling collective and single figure at the top of the chain. A powerful and endearing woman with a heart to big for her small frame.
Defences
While the city itself is spread within a natural defensive position with high walls and dangerous terrain, there are still guard towers, other small walls, and look outs at every level of the city. Things below ground often do not play by the rules.
Industry & Trade
Industry is not very heavy here, some outlining cities usually cover the industrial workings of the Empire.
Infrastructure
Long aqueducts of water shuffle the fresh liquid from long lakes below, and long channels curl seawater that trickles down from above away from the city into pools where it can collect and become fresh water over time.
Assets
Much of the city contains the ruling collective of the Empire, but it also holds the largest deposit and areas of tillable soil beneath the ground. Long tracks of glowing mushrooms light the underground plant farms to give life to the center of the Empire.
History
Founded initially by a group of outcast Highnobles who fell into the lower depths of the earth as the Empire crumbled upon itself, those who found a life here in the lower caverns changed quickly with the worship of the new gods and deities. The city arose quickly from this founded areas.
Architecture
Beautiful sprawling architecture of large and impressive buildings sprawl outwards over the intricately designed pathways and towers.
Geography
Curled around a crater within the earth that stretched upwards from the edges to create a long spiraling upwards thrust of a city within the dark depths below.
Natural Resources
Many natural resources exist in the area, but most are difficult to obtain with the terrain and locale of them.
