Hamish's Crypts - Kalosaralax Memorium
This is the final resting place of a dragon who gave her life trying to protect the elves of Paxander. This dragon's death was a tragedy, and her freinds and family (who are all still alive and well) blame humankind for her death, implicitly.
The Elves of Tellus deem this place as Sacred, although they lost the way to find it many hundreds of years ago. Since then, though her body had been crushed and broken beyond recognition, Hamish Skaalder excavated and cleaned the area around her skull. He used the pulverized bones and fragments thereof to build the walls, and finally an altar dedicated to the fallen hero. Years later, The Captain and his mate, al-Adin the sailor, came here to pay their respects. They carefully made their way here, to this room, and left a couple of trinkets as tribute.
Purpose / Function
To honor a dragon who fell defending the Elves of ancient Paxander.
Design
It is a large room, with a free-standing dome carved out of the roof to accept the weight from the ground above. The walls have been finished with bone fragments and Hamish's proprietary blend of bone dust and cement, which coincidentaly forms a self-healing concretion that is tough as stone. On the far side of the skull is a bone altar with a couple of things left atop it as tribute. One of those objects is a Lamp of Djinni Summoning, the other is a Compass of Find the Path. They lie together, as if placed at the same time, next to a leather carrying case for the compass, and an oiled canvas bag for the lamp. There is a Luckstone also sitting on the altar, amongst a haphazard pile of mixed coins ( 2d6 GP, 2d12 SP, and 1d100 CP)
Entries
Coming from the Penitent Way, one would walk directly into the Dragon's mouth...were she alive, and so inclined, that is.
Sensory & Appearance
The room is beautifully apportioned in bespoke bone tile, and the mosaics on the walls are made of fragmented and pulverized bone. It smells strongly of frankincense, and sandalwood incense, and has a general feeling of hallowed sanctity and peaceful slumber.
Architecture
This room began as a massive undertaking, clearing dirt and detritus from around the skull of the fallen ally. In true Hamish Skaalder style, the room became a piece of utilitarian art, into and of iteself. Being that the skull was the only recognizable part of the body, Hamish used the pulverized and broken fragments of her bones to plaster and fill the walls, and build mosaics that honor the heroic Dragoness.
Defenses
If this room is defiled, the Adult Gold Dracolich will awake, and attack immediately after a properly cinematic roar and wing bash.
