Prym'Teev
Often referred to as Flesh Eaters or Shadow Dwellers by those that don't know their race's proper name.
There was a mixup in one book where the characters were convinced that the Prym’Teev were Skinseekers. They were later corrected. ("No, those are much worse.")
Prym'Teev are the humans that were punished by Mordred for their creation and deployment of the spell he hijacked, thereby saving millions of lives. As retribution for their misdeeds, Mordred warped them into simpleminded creatures. Monsters with exaggerated limbs, bony joints, and skin that seems to be stretched over their skeletons.
Mordred converted the innocents to Tek when one of the humans was going to convert them to some sort of gods. In doing so, many of them would've been sacrificed, and Mordred had already lost faith in gods. Despite their claims otherwise, the very existence of the conversion spell proved that the human nobles wouldn’t have been any better than the gods themselves. The noble who abused Castor’s research to create this bastardized version of his spell became the first Prym'Teev.
The creatures are also ageless, gaining strength and growing more mutated the older they get. The first Teev finally gains some intelligence back after being alive for so long, but he's not the same person. He rules unchallenged over the Prym’Teev for a long time.
After the Great Rebirth, the Prym’Teev are changed ever so slightly, allowing them to regain their intelligence once again. They later worship the Black God because they believe he came to Teralt to save them from their suffering.
