The Spiritual Realms

The Spiritual Realms are a curiosity. It exists outside what most people consider the 'Natural' realm. Some do not even believe it exists, due to it never really seeming to interact with the physical realm. Those who do believe in it, say that it does in fact interact with the physical realm, and that the physical realm is a reflection of their interactions.   Whether real or not, there are some scholars who study this realm, and noticed some patterns in the designs.   The overall design is described as follows:   The realm of the Elements gather their power and give it to the realm of Nature.   The realm of Nature gathers the power given to it and invents it into laws, then passes it through the realm of Time.   The realm of Time adds the perception of time to the laws and passes it to the realm of Senses.   The realm of Senses, trapped within the cycle of life and death, suspended by balance, as the torches of illusions and deception burn on either side. Once the laws pass through the realm of Senses it reaches the final destination, the realm of Dreams.   A quick breakdown of the realms:
The layer of Fire within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Eth (lit. Fire or Heat in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Fire is what one would expect, hot, flaming, and all around can be a rather uncomfortable place to people who don't like bright lights and heat.
The layer of Lightning within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Zha (lit. Electricity, Swiftness, and Suddenness in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Lightning is typically thought of as storming, and typically invites spirits of both the realm of Dirt and Clouds, and the spirits of lightning practice jumping from cloud to cloud, bouncing off the dirt.
The layer of Air within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Hou (lit. Breath or Wind in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Air is a vast place, often seen as empty, though the different pressures, movement and the like make it more feel than see.
The layer of Clouds within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Ahz (lit. Clouds, Weather, and Storms in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Clouds stays between Air and Water, often pulling spirits of those two realms in and dancing with them to make the beautiful chaos that is a storm.
The layer of Water within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Hath (lit. Water, Wetness, and Flowing (or to flow) in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Water is often depicted as a vast ocean with rivers and waterfalls and the like, the spirits of the realm of Water like to dance in a way that's flowing and smooth.
The layer of Dirt within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Fuh (lit. Dirt, Sand, Soil, and Corse objects in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Dirt is a vast plains where there's all sorts of soils, sands, and the like, all of varying density and smoothness, some being very soft and comfortable, others being course and uncomfortable.
The layer of Stone within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Kahr (lit. Stone, Hardness, and Sturdyness in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Stone is beneath the layer of Dirt, here the dirt got so course that it clumped together into huge sections of rock, rigid and firm.
The layer of Minerals within the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Ving (lit. Secrets, Valuables, and Minerals in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Minerals is further below the layer of Stone, often regarded as the Secrets of Stone. Minerals and Stone are similar in many ways, though Minerals are said to be more special when cared carefully for.
The realm of Nature in the center of the realm of the Elements.   Ruler: Regm (lit. Law, Nature, and the Natural in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Nature is where all the energy of the realm of the Elements gather, the spirits in the realm of Nature then devise the laws, flora, fauna, and the like and use their realm and the layers within as a testing grounds of sorts.
The realm of Time between the realm of the Elements and the Realm of Cycles.   Ruler: Vhan (lit. Tempo, Speed, and Time in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Time is merely visited when Nature's laws pass through to the realm of Senses, the spirits of Time are in charge of the perception of time, and many thought of trying to bargain with them.
The layer of Life within the realm of Cycles.   Ruler: Nor (lit. Life, Giving, Creation, and Restoration in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Life is where souls (though not spirits) go after being cleansed in the layer of Death, here the souls are paired with a spirit and then given a body in the physical realm.
The layer of Death within the realm of Cycles.   Ruler: Akh (lit. Death, Decay, Entropy, and Destruction in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Death is where souls are taken when the physical host passes. The spirit is sent beyond and the soul is brought to the layer of Death where they are danced with, removing the echoes of emotions and personality to clear the slate for the next spirit.
The layer of Balance within the realm of Cycles.   Ruler: Lin (lit. Balance, Equality, or Stability in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Balance is between the layers of life and death, while Life and Death are typically portrayed as a disc, with Life being on the upper, Death on the lower, Balance is in between, transfering both souls and information.
The layer of Imbalance within the realm of Cycles.   Ruler: Nil (lit. Imbalance, Unfairness, or Instability in the Ancient tongue)   The layer of Imbalance is on the outskirts of the realm of Cycles. Knowledge of Nil is very limited No Image
The Realm of Senses within the center of the Cycle.   Ruler: Dal (lit. Detection in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Senses is where the physical realm is manifested, all the layers of the realm of Senses build together to form the projection of senses and laws most call "Reality".
The realm of Illusions within the outer Cycle.   Ruler: Tu (lit. Illusions and Fantasies in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Illusions is to the left of the realm of Senses in most depictions, it represents fantasies and more 'light hearted' lies. The symbol is often portrayed as being a known lie spread wildly, people know it's a lie, but it's interesting, so they share it.
The realm of Deception within the outer Cycle.   Ruler: Ut (lit. Deception and Trickery in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Deception is often shown as being to the right side of the realm of Senses, it is often seen as lies of a darker nature, but they have their place as well. The symbol is the opposite of illusions, a truth being kept in secret, despite it being known to be a truth by it's holders.
The Realm of Dreams, the gateway realm.   Ruler: Hnu (lit. Mind or Thoughts in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Dreams is the final of the known realms, it is where the spirits of people who sleep are said to go while their physical body and soul recover and rest, the laws from Nature have travelled so far from their original point that they become distorted at the whims of those who visit.
The Realm of Secrets, the inverse gateway realm.   Ruler: Unh (lit. Secrets and sometimes Magic in the Ancient tongue)   The realm of Secrets is the inverse final of the known realms, not much is known about Unh and their realm, though it is highly believed that arcane magic originates from them as a gift. This would explain why magic is an art over a science and thus can not be used in any machinery from it's volatile and constantly changing nature. No Image
Something people who studied it noticed was some reoccurring symbols and uses. Horizontal lines represent Balance, obviously. However a vertical line represents the opposite, instability or imbalance. A diagonal line rising to the right represents secrets, rising to the left is fantasy, while a circle represents repetition, as seen with Life and Death.   Thus the meaning of Illusions is imbalance turning to fantasy which makes balance, and Deception is balance turned into a secret, making it imbalanced. This sort of philosophy tends to work with many of the realm's sigils.
