Syriax Vintari
Emperor
"It is not that I look down on people, oh, no. I simply ask that they look up." - Syriax VintariEmperor Syriax Vintari is the charismatic and enigmatic ruler of the Diladian Empire. While he spends most of this time in the war room, plotting the next conquest, he takes at least an hour daily to address the people of Nova through the large network of arcane projections and viewing stones that serve as the primary source of news and entertainment in the city of Nova.
While he has been described as charming and friendly, the Emperor of Diladia has demonstrated his proclivity for violence and malevolence on many occasion.
During the sack of Granton, it is said that his decision to burn the city stemmed from an insult hurled at him from a Granton peasant. This was not limited to his national persona, either. It is said that on one occasion, he had a scullery maid scourged for an hour for dropping a drop of red wine on his favorite silk shirt.
He is an immensely vain despot, boasting frequently of the four daily baths he takes and the countless glamours that he uses when he addresses the public. Him along with the upper nobility of Nova, take their residence in the floating district of Alta Gravis, which remains aloft from hundreds of powerful wards developed by some of the most powerful wizards who have lived on Ferrus.

Personal history
Emperor Syriax took the throne at the young age of 20, when his father fell deathly ill to a mysterious illness. Wasting no time, Syriax rallied the Imperial army and began his conquest of the western regions of Terra. Utilizing the vast stores of Ferrium, the Emperor developed a terrible war machine that had no equal throughout all of Terra.
He invaded the peaceful kingdom of Granton unprovoked, surrounding their capital under the ruse of friendship and burned the city. He razed the Stone Fortress, killing many of the 100,000 inhabitants, leaving the rest homeless and impoverished. The surrounding regions fell under the might of the Imperial army, and Emperor Syriax succeeded in unifying the western landmass of Terra.
