Clan Gevorgun

Clan Gevorgun (Guard)

The Enforcers

Overview

The Enforcers are the Dwarven Police Clan that administer the law throughout the kingdom. They take the meaning of Guard to be one of proactive hunting down of criminals rather than a more neutral interpretation. It is one of the Four (Eth Te'jara) - the second generation of Dwarves. As one of the Te'jara Clan, the clan has the highest of esteem and respect from other dwarves.

The Gevorgun are the hunters of the illegal, illicit and ill-informed. They will trace, track, and tag anyone who has infringed on Dwarven laws.

This is the enforcement of control and is at times the pursuit of those who would test that enforcement. They have learned over the centuries to be proactive and head off any problems before it appears.

Steele of Athena Impacts

From the Steele of Athena, the clan received its role - the task of enforcement within the Dwarven Kingdom.

Clan Assets

The Clan Gevorgun are the hunters of other dwarves, and of dwarven enemies. They hunt down anyone who has broken a dwarven law. Sometimes they even take them back for punishment - often they end the problem as swiftly as possible.
The Clan Gevorgun is in fact Lawful Neutral not Lawful Good - they tend to enforce for the sake of enforcement and let Dwarven Heaven sort out the rest.

Their assets extend to access to the Dwarven intelligence network of traders, smiths, and miners that stretches across the Continent. A Gevorgun will know someone from somewhere who knows something about the area - they are excellent obtainers of background information about areas - even those that they have never been to before.

A Gevorgun will have a 10% chance per level of having 1d4 contacts in any settlement encountered.

The Gevorgun generate warriors, bounty hunters, hunters and enforcers mainly from the Warrior class.

Families of the Clan

Clan Gevorgun has three families. They include the:

Kin Trapfast

The Trapfast Lineage has interpreted their role as Enforcers to be the trap makers and prison creators of the Dwarven Kingdom. They are among the best Locksmith and Trap creators in the Kingdom. Trapfast Kin gain a further 10 points on their initial Rogue Points for distribution into the Rogue skills - BUT 30 points MUST be spent in Find and Remove Traps from the outset AND 50% of their future skill points earned below 3rd level must be placed in Find and Remove Traps also.

All Trapfast Dwarves gain the following as a bonus free NWP:

Set Snares 1 Dexterity -1 Player's Handbook (pg. 63) PHB 63

Kin Jacinth

Kin Jacinth are the scrying masters of the Clan. They see themselves as the Providers of Mystical Insight and spend alot of time staring into the multi-colored flames of the Dwarven Forges. It was this clan which revolutionised the Firing of the Forges and the Rainbow variety of Forge colors that the Dwarven Kingdom now enjoys. But they do not use the fires as other Dwarves do, nor do they smelt as much, and few develop the love of fire (arson) the way that the Firewall Kin of the Onnon clan do.

THEY ARE THE ONLY DWARVES WHO CAN TRAIN AS MONKS.

The Jacinth are said to be Guards of the Inner Fires of Dwarfkind. They seek to find the inner fire of the Fiery Jacinth stone within themselves. In their philosophy ALL dwarves have a spark/carat of Jacinth in their hearts but it is only this clan that has attuned itself to the Heartstone of the Race. This focus gives this family the ability to become Monks - as a Dwarven Monk they are the same as Human Monks and are trained by the Monks of the Forge as members of the Enfurnaced League of Orders.

They are obsessed with Gemstones - in particular the Jacinth stones and their Bounty Hunters and Investigators are focused on the acquisition of Jacinth stones - they seek out these stones above all others. Their calling allows them to take Gemcutting at a cost of only 1 NWP point. Also their contacts in cities are 90% likely to be in the field of Jewel crafting or Gem Mining.

Kin Onyxfist

This is the most militaristic clan of the Gevorgun. They are also the family with the strongest connections to the Atlanteans, having earned standing in the Atlantean Court as Dwarven Bodyguards to senior members of court. The Onyxfists use this connection to aid in their efforts to Holdfast. They are focused on both the finding of fugitives, AND the pursuit of Black Onyx Gems. Members of the clan who obtain at least 10,000 gp worth of Onyx (and yes they are normally only worth 50gp each so many Onyxfists exchange their money for them and send them home) can gain an Onyx Mastiff Statuette - a Wondrous Figurine of Power from the Kin. They are similarly obsessed with gemstones - but not just focused on Onyx. and gain the same Gem Cutting skill as the Jacinth.

Kin Obsichain

Kin Obsichain are the Obsidian Dwarves. They are dedicated to Volcanic Rock and in particular the Volcanic Glass known as Obsidian. They have key Obsidian carving skills, and are renowned for tipping their crossbow bolts with the glass to gain a +1 damage bonus through its use. The family is renowned for it's use of Rainbow Obsidian - which often forms into spheres of Eye Obsidian - ideal for the Eye of Enhancement ritual that they experience at level 5.

At 3rd level, the Obsichain change the pommels of their weapons to have an Obsidian Pommel. (cost 30gp.)

At higher levels (7th level and above), the Obsichain Kin provide their members with the recipe for Obsidigal - this is a coating that changes the appearance of any metal - it does not change it's qualities but, changes the appearance to make it appear to be made from pure Obsidian of any type chosen by the user at the time of application.
