The Royal Atlantean Armory
Overview
The Royal Atlantean Armory is a multipurpose facility in Atlantis. It is an armory storage facility for the Capital's watch, and Armed Forces Units in the area, a museum storage area of weapons of note from the City's past, and a research facility into new types of weapons.
This makes the facility a place of training - allowing for any class to train in combat use of any weapon that the character has proficiency in, a place of forging and enchantment - providing the city with the best Non-Dwarven Forges in the World, with provisions for the manufacturing and modification of any weapon developed, and finally as a research facility it allows for the development of new forms of weapons, as well as the testing of the same.

War College Connections
The Armory is, for the War Colleges, what the Royal Library is, for the Wizards and Sages of Atlantis, the main reason for their continued success. The Armory acts as the main centre for combat training methods, for the study of foreign weapon systems and for the unique development of new weaponry. As such, the War Colleges all have representatives that meet at the Armory for research and training. In some cases, the War Colleges have competitions to see which can provide the Armory with the most unique new form of weapon or combat system. This healthy competition keeps the armory stocked with a full compliment of every type of weapon ever listed.
Weapon Forging
The smiths in the armory are the top members of the Blacksmiths and Weaponsmiths Guilds - and it is rumored the Cutlers are linked to these forges as well. Only the Dwarves of the Northern Escarpment are said to be more skilled in Weapon repair and forging. So skilled are the Atlantean Armory smiths that they can repair any given weapon in 50% of the time and at 75% of the cost.
Weapon Training
As stated any weapon can be trained in, at the Armory. The cost is also at a 25% discount.
Weapon Research
Weapon Research
Currently the Armory is working on new black powder based weaponry and managing the new forms of weapons coming in from the Aubadyi Caliphate - the magic involved in some of the weaponry has mystified some of the Sages and they are eager to gain more examples of D'Masked Blades for research - however, none have ever seen the blades being forged and so it is still a mystery.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the building was originally to store weapons for the locally based military units, but it has since expanded greatly with new weaponry being tested on it's grounds. The testing facilities necessitated increased protections - not for the armory, but for the city around it - as explosions through walls could result in great damage to Atlantis - as a result the armory is a huge castle that is ironically built as much for internal protection as it is for external.
Alterations
The Armory has grown extensively from a simple fort into a major turreted castle in the midst of the City. This growth has been uniform as the Engineers of the Atlantean Armed forces have ensured that it's development has met all the expectations of the King himself. He often sends Royal offspring to the Armory for regular training.
Architecture
The building is a large multi-turreted castle that allows for extensive protection but also extensive testing of battle systems and even fortification testing is done here.
