Bladesmith Guild
Overview
The Bladesmith Guild is an off-shoot of the Blacksmith's Guild. It specialises in the forging of cutlery. This includes, but is not limited to, knives, daggers, swords, polearms and axes.The Bladesmith Guild is often preferred by Paladins and Warriors from Noble Familites. This is because the Bladesmith Guild members customise the look of the weapons that are created. Not only are the weapons the highest in quality, but also look the greatest. Magical weaponry is commonly brought to a bladesmith for enhancement in both look and function.A bladesmith is a highly specialised Blacksmith who aids in the forging of speciailsied weapons using unique materials. This can include the use of runes and magic to create amazing weaponry. A bladesmith is more likely to have the raw materials needed or the recipes needed to forge more specialised weapons using strange materials.
The Bladesmith can enhance the look of the blade being wielded. The Bladesmith will comply with the wishes of their customer. However, the Bladesmith - in order to hold their position must adhere to certain rules concerning weapon embellishment.
Class appropriate motifs - eg justice motifs for Paladins
Level appropriate signs, sigils and forms - Growing ornateness for higher levels
Order Recognised Signs - The Order motto and motifs can be enscribed.
Rank accorded Symbols - Order level symbols - bars, crowns and wreaths
Feat and Achievement Symbols - Dragon heads for dragon slayers, crumbling walls for sieges.
Runes - these can include Runic spells and non-magical inscriptions
Pricing is 10 - 100gp per inch of inscription and embellishment.
Such weaponry will clearly indicate to any knowledgeable viewer the nobility of the wielder, and potentially their rank in their Order, Family, or Class Level.Therefore in the correct situation the weapon can add or minus 1D10+2% to the Loyalty and Moral Checks.
