Irgian (Er-gian)

Irgian is the capital and the largest city of Irgia Republic.

Government

It's rule by the senator, who lead the Irgian council. A large stone building known as The Centralium is the council's main building.

Defences

The urban area for wealthy citizens and the government living are protected by the wall. Since Irgian is a coastal city, a naval base is established with main fleets parked around the Long Bay. The problem with the long bay is a strait exiting to the Irgian Channel risk the naval blockage, and so two lighthouses are placed between.

History

Irgian was formed before any state declaration. The area was inhabited by Erga tribe. Having bittersweet conflicts with neighboring tribes for centuries, the settlement was a presistance of rise and fall from time to time. This was until 656 BVE when they finally cooled down and concluded with grouping together. To keep each tribe's prestige, they decided to form the republic, with the first election let the Erga leader won as the first senetor, and with Irgian as the new capital.

Geography

The city spread across the smooth hill of the Gate Lowland, from the Sarrim river to the Long Bay. It's surrounded by plentiful vineyards, wheat fields, and olive plantations.
