Irgian Channel
The sea is wide, but you know what's wider? An overrated Irg trade fleet. The entire navy for a single galley? Pathetic.
Irgian Channel is a shallow sea that saperate the Ronminar Isles from the southern South Estisia, passaging the Esparia Ocean and the Rectjaw Ocean. It has become one of the significant trading spot for all around the maritime societies. Merchant Ships are likely to pass this channel since it is the shortest route for trading with the East.
An alternative route can be found at Venta's Split.
Geography
About 40 - 50km at the widest point, the channel is shallow but fast water current. It's also spread inward into the continent, forming Long Bay.
Ecosystem
The channel is rich in fishes as warm water flowing through.
History
The channel has been contested as long as history itself. Many coastal towns were found around the channel. However only a few can spread influence over the others. Whoever have the most powerful fleets mostly dominated the power of the sea and trade.
It's only one time that the channel was dominated not only by the sea but also the land between them as well. It's done by the Irgia Republic with with the colonization of Ronminar Isles, with a significant port town Sria. This was until 110 BVE when it's being caded to Maritime Kingdom as the result of the war. Now both are considered the biggest sea power in the channel, although the latter is far more superior.
Don't be afraid of those scums! A fragment of our troops and they'll be wiped out. We just fight a wrong battlefield.
