History
The Origin
It's started by small tribes, which immigrated from the mainland mixed with the native, settling around the isle.
Unification
Nations rise and fall oftenly in this relam. The reason they fought each other for centuries was to become the only one on the isle. The threat was so high and no one could ignore it. A series of war occured, many treaties signed, and many nations merged.
/*The official statement recorded that the peak of conflict happened in 255 BVE, when Sria embargoed the channel*/
This map shown major countries between 160-144 BVE, though there were some unrecognizable states in the middle.
Late War's Problem
The dream nearly came true as the Kingdom of Arcwood seem to conquer most of the landmasses. Only the problem it had was the coastline. Because their army were strong, but the navy compared to any other coastal nations were still weak. Especially Sria with the help of great fleets from their lord, Irgia.
/*and Paccion where the sloppy mountain range causes troops to struggle.*/
If those fleets were destroyed, the job would be easier.
The Birth of Nation
The monarch at the time, Queen Imogen, had to solve the problem. Shortly after her coronation, she planned to develop whole new naval ships, tactics, and technologies while defending their own lands simultaneously. She struggled at first but as soon as it started to shape, the plan turned out to be pretty impressive. Within a short time her fleets became doubled, for both quantity and quality. Combining with trained army, she can beat them up from a few battles and finally unified the Isle on 110 BVE.
However, the land she got was too big and ethnically diverse. To centralize the nation, the queen decided to create a common name that represented not only her kingdom but all countries as a whole.
As many major cities were settled along the coast, "The Maritime Kingdom" had been officially chosen, and the city of Arcwood of course, served as the capital.
