Personal history

Alyssandra is one of the youngest guild captains in Adventurers Guild history. She is renowned for both her spellcasting prowess as well as her charismatic nature and ability to dominate a conversation. As a small girl, she was touched by the arcane, when an invading band of raiders and brigands sacked the small town of Crags Hollow. A spell intended to kill young Alyssandra instead incapacitated her and left a nasty scar on her shoulder, with remnants of the arcane forever trapped inside her. Her mother was able to wisk her away to safety and nurse her back to health, but the magic was still inside her. As she grew older, she learned how to harness the instability and control the power that had been left behind. Her mother was a dabbler in the arcane, and was able to show her only bits and pieces of the endless possibilities of magic, until she came of age and was able to attend The Dûnadaïn Conservatory in Merciwyne. Two years of diligent study and two more years of graduate study set her up well to enter The Adventurer's Guild, where she climbed the ranks quickly. It was here that she became close friends with Johnnis Morriwether, and actually adventured with him for a time. 
It was several years later that Alyssandra had risen high enough in the ranks and was presented with the opportunity to interview for the position of guild captain. She failed the interview, she was told she was "too young and inexperienced". Disappointed but understanding, Alyssandra kept her head down and led a team of adventurers for six more years before the opportunity again presented itself to interview for the exact same position when the previous captain accepted a different role in a different city. This time, she was offered the position of guild captain, a title which she presently and proudly holds. 
Because of the fact that her direct superior is the man who she once adventured with, some have fabricated rumors that Alyssandra engaged in a romantic relationship with Johnnis Morriwether that afforded her the opportunity to receive her promotion. Speaking such lies is of course slanderous, and it is one that Alyssandra personally finds offensive and bothersome. She considers herself the hardest working member of the guild, anybody who should speak negatively of her should speak those words to her face and to nobody else.
