Githyankium
The Gith are the newest race in Umbregia, and are not native to this world. They arrived from an external plane as refugees and have subsequently conquered their way into be one of the most powerful entities in Umbregia.
History
The Githyanki arrived on our world in 237 AC; arriving from a completely different world. Little to nothing is known of their true origins, only gossip and heresy from exiles and enemies. Some say their world was destroyed, and the Gith that arrived on our world are refuges. Others say they were overthrown tyrants, forced into exile by their usurpers. The Gith themselves are incredibly tight lipped about what their forebears wrote. And seemingly, their ancestors have used a variety of revelations to influence the masses to whatever cause the ruling class wishes. For their existence in Umbregia, the Gith of only known war and conquest. Now, according to the Gith, they were met with immediate hostility, and have been fighting for control of their right to exist. Everything has been for security and survival. The Dwarves , Dragonborn and especially, the Lizardfolk offer a conflicting view. They say the Gith have always been the aggressors, waging wars of conquest and destruction. Both Dracinum and Dwarvinium were able to negotiate lengthy peace deals in the 1500's but the Gith and Lizardfolk have been at almost constant war since the year of the Gith arrival. The conflict has only paused for the routine succession wars the Gith leaders have whenever an Emperor passes. The Gith have conquered the entirety of the Yucatec plain and have been pushing the Lizardfolk to into the ocean. The conquest of the former Lizardfolk capital city of Zum'roct in 1686 AC was the last major annexation of the conflict.
