Session 9

General Summary

4th Day of Julista

Picking up where we left of in Session 8 ; the party alongside Aerwyen Galandol-Marivald were able to connect the trials they completed and the four cryptex's preventing their joruney deeper into the temple. AWAKEN-SUBMIT-FOLLOW-PURIFY were the answers, and it was apparent Sandro was a bit of a word puzzle savant in his former life. Inside they found a worship space; a few new shiney objects worth a bit of coin, and a prayer book that spoke of the Alessian Purification God, Reshilaba and another figured named Neohaegar. After leaving the ruin, the party meet back up with Vergenna Longshaft who said she had cracked a bit of the cypher written codex's and learned it was a chronological account of something involving Clovista Septimus . The group decided to return to Aerwyen's manor for a bit of R&R   Balthazar got a fancy new sword, and the group found their coinpurses alot more heavy. While learning a bit more about Aerwyen and Diero, they were interupted by intruders, who were apparently after the atrifact. A battle ensued, which the boys overcame without issue thanks to their masterful tactics and a few timely balista bolts from Vergeena. Wyen bested the leader (whom she had a past with) and allowed Sandro the right to judgement, which he did so forcefully. Another battle seemed to be happening not too far from them, and Aerwyen suggested they head somewhere more safe: a pocket domain.   Inside they learned Aerwyen and Vergeena had discovered a magical ebony piece much like the boys did in a well guarded vault. Aparently, there as a 3rd piece in Pruessmount as well. Using the inscription, Wyen surmised they were alluding to Open and Destruction.... not great words to see so close in proximity. Worried about whom and why other entities were pursing these artifacts, she suggested the group meet up with Pelmenous Fortune ; an old friend and ally. There had recently been an attempted theft in Vexlorn of Alessian artifacts, and Pel knew all about the caper. The group agreed that the situation was not good, and accepted the mission, eventually heading out toward the Forlorn Ranger HQ in Dressencroft Keep.  

5th Day of Julista

Their journey brought them through the small farming community known as Mournmill. On the road, the group was acosted by farmers who presumed they were memebers of the The Acastus Consortium saying one of the members was injured in the village. It seemed like crew wanted to press on, but Sandro was contacted directly by his patron, insisting he carry out her will of retribution in the town. Sidestory time!   They learned from the injured Acastus member Hernoth, one of the abandoned hamlets in town has been haunted recently by an unknown entity. While investigating under moon light, he was attacked. At the recommendation of the mayor, the group eventually learns of a awful event that transpired in the hamlet three decades prior. The party had a bit of intuition the event and haunting might be related and followed leads in town. They soon learned  what was reported may not have happened, and something much more nefarious had. Returning with a locket related to a young bride that had been murdered, Hernoth surmised the entity could be a Moonbanhee, teethered to this plane by her thrist for vengeance. Her spirit lay dormat for 30 years until the locket saw the moon, and manifested that vengeance into a being hellbent on destruction. The group laid out their plan; first defeat the Moonbanshee so the young girls spirit would be free to ascend with Lathander then bring justice to man resposnible, Count Paenir.
