Ludwig Karstadt
Artificer (Master Crafter)
Ludwig is a master crafter of watches and clocks. He is active in the Tinkerers and Merchant guild. He and his wife, Sabina, are the owners and operators of
the premiere department store in Eisen.
Ludwig has long straight blonde hair, ice blue eyes, and an ivory complexion. He stands at a little over six feet tall with a lean build.
Ludwig and his wife Sabina moved to Eisen in 1846. They opened Karstadt Timepieces, with Ludwig being the designer and craftsman and Sabina running the business. He became active in the Tinkerers guild. Ludwig’s work was noticed for making intricate delicate personal timepieces earned him the favor of a few nobles. He put the same effort into his pieces that were available to the general public for both the low and middle class. Later he re-branded his store as Karstadt's Goods to include his specialized skills and general store goods. He joined the Merchant guild. Always eager to show off his talents he submitted his work for display at the World's Faire or competitions. His business and his family grew past their original locations. He moved his family to the central ward to open a new store location and larger living space. All of his sons showed an aptitude for mechanical creations. He nurtured them and when they finished their education he added them to the business offering their specialities along with his. Even after growing his business beyond the income level he first started in, he and his family live within their means and the modest home. This is one of the many examples of his practical nature. Even though he is known for being a hard worker he is seen from time to time at the local museum, art gallery, and theater. And he is a common sight at balls enjoying to dance whenever he gets the chance.
