Karstadt’s Department Store Central

Karstadt Goods is a general store offering quality and affordable goods including groceries.

Purpose / Function

Karstadt Goods provides a location to purchase everyday products for those in the Central Ward.

Architecture

This Peach Avalon style building doubles as both the shop on the first two floors and the living quarters for the Karstadt family on the upper floors. The exterior is well maintained to look as close to brand new as possible. On the first floor a large picture window displays the shop's goods. The basement acts as short term storage. The interior of the shop is cleaned to almost medical standards.

Defenses

The first floor display window is double pane with thick glass. The same goes for the doors and side windows that also have wrought iron scroll work. All windows and doors have attached noise makers to alert anyone of movement from these locations.

History

In 1858 The Karstadts opened their second location after finding success at running the original location in the South Ward. Wilhelm started working at the shop when he wasn't studying at the Academy of the Adventuring Arts. When he graduated he took a more active role in the shop, then took over as manager when his parents started construction on the department store.
