Red Furnace

The hottest region in the Old World and for most of the Third Age, Kingdoms, it belonged to Fire Giants and Seljuks. Even when the Divine Empire came through the Trone Mountains, the people here only would work as allies, never as subjects of the empire, so it was left as that. When the Seljuk Empire fell, many of the Seljuk returned to their nomadic style and took upon themselves to take old lands - now called the Lands of Seljuk's Sons. These nomads persistent long in the Fourth Age, The Calamity and to the Fifth Age, Current Age. Even the fire giant kingdom of Nar'Atar Mountains was able to survive. What wasn't are the lands called now Desert of Fire. War with the Icons broke the region and increases the temperatures there to unreasonable degree. Rivers of water dried up, only to be replaced by rivers of magma. Volcano eruptions are an constant and many Red Dragons would come here to make their home. Thus the land trade through the Red Furnace region became impossible.
