Church of Mortis
Mortis worshippers are resolute, conscious of the fact that Mortis is watching and that how they lived is the measure by which they are judged. In battle they are determined, without fear, well organised and ruthless.
Rites for the dying and the dead are detailed in the Books of Mortis. The rite of the dead are performed by a priest or priestess of Mortis, it involves closing the eyes of a body, placing coins upon them for the ferryman, washing the body’s hands so that they travel to Mortis without blood on their hands, speaking of the dead (both good and bad), and inviting all to touch the corpse so that they may dream of them.
Traditionally the ruling council of the church of Mortis was called the Leichenhallen. Membership of the Leichenhallen is believed to comprise of the high priest of Mortis and his apprentices.
