Ebonwing Cathedral

Ebonwing Cathedral is a monumental place of worship dedicated to Nevaria. It is perhaps one of the oldest buildings in Ravenmar and was constructed from the darkest stone quarried from the Thelian Mountains. The cathedral has a gigantic dome that shines like a polished obsidian, outward from this dome, the structure extends into two wings. Intricate geometric carvings and ornaments of ravens adorn the exterior.

Ebon Dome

Around the plaza in front of the grand entrance of the cathedral stand a total of eight massive granite statues of ravens, their eyes of polished onyx watching over all who enter. Crossing the threshold of the cathedral, visitors enter the vast area of the ebon dome, where the air is cool and there is a solemn tranquil ambiance. Candles light the space, as there are only a few narrow stained glass windows that let in daylight, filtered through the blue and purple colored panes of glass. The ceiling above is an artistic masterpiece, painted with a starry night sky. Directly across the entrance, a large stone statue of Nevaria that doubles as a pulpit from which a priest or cleric can conduct rituals and sermons. Soft cawing and flapping of wings can be heard every now and then from the ravens that roam freely in the cathedral. Outward to the left and right from the dome, the cathedral is divided into two distinct wings, each serving a unique aspect of Nevaria's worship.

Wing of Secrets

The Wing of Secrets is where worshippers come to offer silent prayers and confide their deepest secrets.Worshippers sit or kneel in solitary contemplation, whispering their secrets and confessions into the stillness. These whispers are believed to be collected by the ravens, who then ascend to the rafters, taking the confessions to Nevaria. This wing also attracts scholars and practitioners of the arcane, drawn by the allure of hidden knowledge and arcane secrets. They come in search of inspiration and enlightenment, hoping to uncover the mysteries of magic and the unknown through Nevaria's guidance.

Wing of Guidance

The other wing, known as the Wing of Guidance, Is for those seeking direction and comfort. It is a place where the lost can find their way, and the uncertain can gain clarity, whether in matters of life decisions, spiritual paths, or emotional turmoil. The Wing of Guidance is not just a place for individual prayer but also a space for support. Clergy and devotees of Nevaria often provide counsel and comfort to those who come seeking help. This wing embodies the compassionate aspect of Nevaria, offering a sanctuary where burdens can be shared, and souls can find peace and direction.
